House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was recently served an eviction notice by a series of homeless activists hailing from San Francisco who began protesting outside her mansion.
According to local media outlets, the homeless protesters claimed on Saturday how the House Speaker should reconvene the Congress and then go about passing a major extension towards an eviction moratorium that was soon expiring.
The House had recently adjourned on Friday for its summer recess, without passing any form of legislation relating to a countrywide ban over evictions that are soon to expire on Saturday.
Moreover, the incident also managed to spark great outrage from another progressive squad as well as a group of protesters who gathered at the Capitol overnight.
A total of 40 different activists managed to lead the way towards the Speaker’s house, where they reportedly taped a giant ‘eviction notice’ upon her main door. They claim this is a major reminder for the Speaker that there are so many Americans who might be in danger of eviction as early as this weekend.
They also boldly added how it was quite appalling and inconsiderate for Nancy Pelosi to sleep so comfortably at her posh residence.
“The main reason why we’re all actually standing here is related to the fact that this woman has a stunning mansion on the Pacific Heights locality in the city of San Francisco. Therefore, it just goes to show how much she is out of touch with her people that are facing such a tough situation,” they claimed.
Protesters did add how the housing, as well as the homeless crisis, is deeply worsening and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has plenty to do with just that.
Reports claim that it’s still not really clear as to whether or not Pelosi was present at her private residence at that time.
And in case she was, she did not feel the need to come out to address all the activists.Recommended Video For You!
