One family is revealing their utter heartbreak and tragedy as a young woman was recently declared brain dead by paramedics, after being crushed at the Astroworld concert.
22-year-old Bharti Shahani who is a senior at Texas’s A&M was enthusiastic to see Travis Scott perform live, like other concertgoers but little did the bright and beautiful student know about the horror that lay ahead of her.
Shahani suffered multiple heart attacks after she was brutally crushed during the stampede that took place at the Astroworld music festival, which reportedly left eight people dead and wounded dozens of others.
Now, her family says that medics have informed them about the worst possible news that any loved one could ever receive and that is how their loving daughter will not be able to survive.
“Her chances of survival are nothing,” the distraught and heartbroken father explained to media outlets. “I hope no family has to ever endure what we’ve recently been through,” he went on to explain.
At the moment, Shahani is on a ventilator, struggling between life and death, after she was declared brain dead by doctors. They revealed how sudden minutes of oxygen loss turned into absolute turmoil, leaving irreparable damage on her vital organs, especially her brain.
Shahani was super excited about the music concert which she reportedly attended with her sister and cousin. But due to the sudden and tragic chaos that took place during the later hours of the night, she was crushed in the massive stampede.
Her cousin Mohit Bellani revealed how devastating it was to see one person fall on top of the other like a stack of dominoes. “It was like a sinkhole,” he went on to explain.
“There were literally layers of bodies everywhere like two people think,” he cried. Similarly, he spoke about how he and so many others were fighting to reach the top, just so they could breathe and stay alive.
