A new mum is going viral after her 70-year-old mother-in-law made the most unrealistic demands relating to breastfeeding her child.
The demand is undoubtedly unbelievable and one that left the new mother and her husband shocked beyond belief. Moreover, that wasn’t the only thing that left the couple in utter disbelief. Yes, the mum also mentioned how she wished to perform breastfeeding on the couple’s other child as well.
But what was the couple’s reply is a question on so many people’s minds. Well, as you can probably expect, they refused, by all means. They also referred to the entire incident as extremely bizarre and awkward.

You may have come across a number of weird, shocking, and super unbelievable stories. But this one takes the cake, or so we may believe. A new mother talks about the unbelievable demands that came along her mother-in-law.
As a 70-year-old woman, you’d probably expect a little more maturity from someone her age. However, what one couple received was just the opposite. Through an anonymous post on Reddit, the mother talks about her shocking encounter with her child’s grandmother or husband’s mother. Here she reveals how her mother-in-law was adamant about one thing. And that was related to breastfeeding.
At just two months old, her baby was just so tiny and it didn’t require anyone else’s breastmilk but the mum. If only it were that easy to explain to a stubborn mother in law.
Reddit says it all
Posting as an anonymous, the mother talks about why her mother in law wanted to feed her grandchild. According to her, it would help in increasing the bond between the grandmum and baby. Yes, that was her excuse.
In addition, she requested her daughter in law to teach her how to do the deed. How awkward and strange of a request is that?
The mum certainly asked quite a bit is what many people felt. Others mentioned or in fact, questioned her husband’s response regarding the strange ordeal.
Thankfully, her husband was on her side. He agreed that it was such a wrong thing to do, or even think of. Calling it off as inappropriate, it was now time to politely excuse.
But if one child wasn’t enough, the mother in law began asking for her daughter’s child too. And that baby wasn’t even born yet. Yes, he was due in just 6 weeks. Yet, the 70-year-old had her eyes upon him as well.
The internet responds to breastfeeding affair
In her defense, the mother in law mentioned how her request wasn’t awkward at all. In fact, she went on claiming how it was totally normal to do so. “She read that grandmothers breastfeed children in other cultures and now, she wasn’t to give it a go,” the new mum explained.
But what did the internet say? Whose side were they on in the first place? Well, as you can probably guess, they were on the mum’s side. Some questioned if ladies this old could even lactate? Another wrote how delusional this whole scenario was.
At the end of the day, the grandmother felt enraged when the couple declined. She blamed her daughter in law for standing in the way of a great bond. However, the truth of the matter was that her own son felt grossed out, equally.
