A mum was left feeling appalled and extremely weirded out after her 70-year-old mum-in-law demanded to breastfeed her child.
According to the 70-year-old mother-in-law, breastfeeding from various sources brings about plenty of benefits while increasing the bond between individuals with the baby too.
While the whole process is a little overwhelming as it is, things get worse when new mothers are surrounded with added pressure from their mothers-in-law that make such extreme claims.
One mum explained her horrifying feelings after the entire incident which she believes is crossing the line.
The fact that her mother-in-law wants to give breastfeeding a go with her grandchild was not only weird and disgusting but a little impossible to imagine. Therefore, the mum opted to voice her thoughts on the matter by sharing her personal story on an online platform.
She wished to see what advice she would get regarding the matter.
Through an anonymous post on Reddit, the mum says she was caught in the midst of a supremely awkward ordeal, after rejecting the 70-year old’s demands. While the post has been removed from the online platform, plenty of people had their say on the story.
The mother spoke about her child is just 2 months old and that’s when her mum law with the most bizarre breastfeeding request.
But that’s not all. The mother revealed how the 70-year-old is excited for her own daughter’s baby and wishes to breastfeed both her niece and nephew at the same time. But till then, she wishes to practice on the mum’s 2-month child.
The fact that the 70-year-old was asking for tips from the mum really weirded her out. “Can women this old actually re-lactate,” she questioned.
As you can probably imagine, the comments on the situation from online readers were plenty. As a whole, the majority of readers agreed that the mum-in-law certainly crossed the line. They even spoke about how weird it would be to stand in the mum’s shoes.
While some told her to boldly say no, others just felt it was wrong on so many levels for a mother-in-law to intrude into personal matters like that.
