A mother has ignited a fury on social media after appearing to dump her designer handbag on her sleeping baby while having her hair fixed at a salon.
TikTok user Letitia Joy posted a video, where an unidentified mother was sitting and having her hair styled while the little one rests in the stroller.
The video posted on the account @joyfreckles last month alongside the caption: “Some people don’t deserve kids.”
A bag has blocked the baby from the view and if you look closely, the little one’s small feet are poking out from underneath.
The baby can be seen sitting in a pushchair underneath the weight of a designer handbag.
On the other side of the video, the mother is involved can be seen sitting in a salon chair as she has her hair done.
People were shocked by the fact that the undercarriage of the stroller appears to be empty, meaning there would have been enough space for the bag there.
The footage has since been watched more than 5.7 million times, with viewers rushing to the comment section to share their concerns.
People clustered to the comments sharing their concerns with one viewer saying: “If the mum treats her kid like this in public then I can’t even imagine at home.”
A second shocked viewer said: “The bag is more important than her own baby. Sad”
“I’m so sorry for that poor baby,” commented a third person.
While someone added: “the barber is just as bad for not saying anything.”
A different commenter went as far as to call it “literally suffocation”.
It’s unclear where the footage was filmed, or when it was first taken.
Letitia clarified in the comment section that she didn’t film the viral video, and therefore was unable to say anything to the unnamed woman.
