A mother has recently been charged for purchasing guns using a multi-million dollar settlement that was given by the police for her son’s death.
According to local media outlets, the woman from California was nearly paid around $5 million via settlement after her son died in a tragic incident, where cops fatally shot her child.
But the mother opted to make use of the funds in the most unthinkable manner imaginable and that entailed buying weapons to help support her other son’s gang.
The suspect was identified as 42-year-old Christina Lopez who hails from Madera. She is a part of the giant 14 member gang that was reportedly arrested a few months back after a long investigation by cops revealed shocking details regarding her behavior and illegal activity.
Meanwhile, local media reports claim that the shooting incident whereby her son was gunned down took place in July of 2017. More details into the police case revealed how her son tried to make a run for it as cops chased him down, ordering him to surrender. He was killed by the police on the spot.
The boy tried to make a run for it from the officers but while he was doing so, he was gunned down fatally.
Therefore, as compensation from the city, the mother received a mega $4.9 million as a settlement for the unfortunate incident. Moreover, the settlement was given the title of being one of the most expensive in the history of the city.
But now, shocking reports revealed how the mother went about using those funds to buy guns for her other 14-year-old child and the gang that he belonged to.
“She continued to take more and more money for the settlement that she got from the city of Fresno. She used it to purchase a home where she currently lives now while opting to buy weapons worth thousands of dollars too,” the police claimed.
