A makeshift memorial made of stones was left at an area in Bridger-Teton National Forest where a body believed to be Gabby Petito was discovered.
The stones arranged in a cross were spotted at the Spread Creek Dispersed Campsite where human remains of a woman were found. Authorities await an autopsy to confirm whether the body belongs to Petito.
According to reports, the 22-year-old ‘van-life’ woman set out on a road trip with her fiancé Brian Laundrie to create a vlog. She was last seen alive on August 24.
The spot with the makeshift memorial was found east of Grant Teton National Park in Wyoming. It is not clear when it was created.
Near the cross, a pink ribbon was spotted tied to a dead tree on the ground.
A short while after the remains were found, a rainbow appeared in the same area of Grand Teton National Park.
FBI agents recently stormed Laundrie’s parents’ home and removed his parents from the property, declaring the area a crime scene only moments after authorities called off a search of a nearby nature reserve.
The family’s attorney, Steven Berolino, told ABC 7 that the family went searching for now-missing Laundrie on Wednesday.
They saw his Ford Mustang, which had a police note on it demanding that the car be removed from the area.
The family left the vehicle there so that Laundrie could drive it back but they returned the next day to retrieve it. On Friday, they reported him missing.
Forensic experts have been checking Petito’s computer hard drive for more crucial clues after Florida police got a court warrant to search the device.
Reports revealed that the computer was with Laundrie when he returned alone to Florida on September 1.
