The Duchess of Sussex reportedly wanted to be a special guest on former US President Barack Obama’s guest list.
However, both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not show up to the event and that’s because they were not even a part of the guest list, explained inside sources. While the Obamas were initially criticized for throwing an upscale party during COVID-19 times and with the Delta variant on the rise, it was soon revealed how they intended to scale down on the celebrations.
But after a few days, shocking images surfaced online showing a grand party at the Martha’s Vinyard with plenty of guests in attendance. And let’s not forget how none of the attendees were donning face masks too.
Now, an inside source from the Royals claims that Meghan Markle desperately wanted to be on the Obama birthday guest list. Just recently, the Duchess of Sussex celebrated her own 40th birthday in somber style. But that was not the direction that Barack Obama planned on taking for his grand celebrations.
He partied like a rockstar with some of his closest A-list friends. But many felt the absence of both Harry and Meghan. And that’s when it was revealed that Obama never even included them for his 500 guest event.
With that being said, a few sources claim that it’s still not really confirmed whether or not an official invite was sent out. But the shocking part is how one royal expert and author spoke in relation to how much Meghan wanted to be there for the grand occasion.
“I am being told that despite the fact that she couldn’t attend, she desperately wanted to make an appearance and attend the party. She wanted to be that special guest at Obama’s celebration,” the insider revealed.
Well, we guess Meghan will just have to accept the fact that she’s not a double A-Lister because only the most exclusive celebs get an invite for grand occasions like these!
