Meet the man who married his mother-in-law and claims the relationship is super magical.
Clive Blunden married his mother-in-law, Brenda Blunden, after divorcing his own wife. The duo first began seeing each other in the year 1989, which is exactly four years after he got divorced from Brenda’s daughter named Irene.
Clive’s 3-decade long relationship is being described as magic for obvious reasons and that’s because their bond is super strong, despite all the critics who felt their marriage wouldn’t last long.
While Clive is 65 and his wife is 77, it simply doesn’t make any difference because the passion in their marriage remains ignited as ever. However, the story is a little complicated.
Irene and her then-husband Clive had two daughters of their own before getting divorced in 1985.
Now, four years later, Clive and Brenda started secretly seeing one another where they ended up passionately kissing, after a night of drinking. And from there, one thing led to another.
The pair claims to have fallen in love immediately with many assuming that it was just infatuation that wouldn’t last too long. Clive says he is with his wife 24/7 and that’s what keeps the magic alive. It’s like an inseparable bond.
While the couple has been in a relationship for 30 years, their marriage comprises just 13 years since it had been illegal in the past for a man to marry his mother-in-law.
After proposing to his mum in law in the year 1997, the couple opted to put up their banns at the registered office at their hometown in Warrington Cheshire.point 386 |
However, Clive was shortly arrested after that as it was deemed to be a ‘lawful impediment’ with the possibility of being jailed for around 7 years, in case they chose to go ahead with it.point 166 | 1
But things did work out in the end when the couple learned about the policies regarding the law. Now, they are happier than ever with zero regrets, whatsoever.
