CCTV cameras captured the moment a man kicked a female commuter on a subway station escalator in Brooklyn, causing her to fall several feet.
According to New York City police, the 32-year-old mother was kicked in the chest after she confronted the man for shoving past her on the escalator.
The victim reportedly told him to ‘say excuse me’ to which the attacker replied ‘I did’ before kicking the woman in the chest.
The mother fell to the bottom of the escalator as the attacker continued his way out of the station.
Speaking about the incident, the mother recalled: “I was coming home from school. I didn’t run into this man. I did not have any prior engagement with him.”
After telling the man to say ‘excuse me,’ he turned around and “kicked me in the chest.”
“Oh my God, it was from the top of the escalator at Barclays Center all the way to the bottom,” she expressed.
Police said that the 32-year-old suffered cuts and bruises to her arms, legs, back, right thigh, and right knee, and trauma to her left ankle.
“This was more than stairs. Escalators are spiky and moving. They’re bigger and sharp,” the woman added.
“All over my body. I’m covered (in cuts) like I was clawed by a tiger.”
The mother refused treatment for her extensive injuries, police said.
“I just didn’t want to sit in an emergency room. I just wanted to go home to my 9-year-old, my family,” she expressed. “I’ve been limping for days.”
The NYPD released photos of the attacker and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him. Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
