A man is going viral after posting his side of the story as to why he refused to give up his bus seat to a pregnant woman when she asked.
The man posted up an argument on the Reddit platform where he entailed a question regarding why he should be the one to give up his seat to a woman carrying an unborn child. Therefore, the conversation really divided users on the platform, by all means.
Reports confirmed how the man was slammed by his own loved ones when he said no to a pregnant woman who politely requested him to give his seat so she could sit on the bus. Instead, the man began arguing with her, explaining that it was definitely not his fault that she opted to have a baby in the first place.
After his own vehicle was destroyed in a recent car crash, the man claims that he was using the bus more frequently now than ever for his daily means of travel, to and from work. And that’s while he patiently waits for his insurance coverage to pay up all the damages incurred.
“My job is tough comprising of 10 hour-long shifts. For this reason, I cherish my bus rides to the greatest extent,” the man went on to explain to Reddit users. In addition, he spoke about how the bus stop is a good 20 minutes away from his actual home. And that includes traveling on foot for a long distance too. “That means more time on my feet so I don’t look forward to standing any more than I need to,” he added.
But if you think his actions went down well with the masses, think again. Even his own family members didn’t stand by his decision of refusing to give up a seat to a fellow passenger that was expecting.
The man mentioned how he wasn’t rude at all to the lady. Instead, he politely explained how his feet were sore and that he just couldn’t afford to stand longer for her. But the incident made the woman burst into tears as she was a pregnant single mom. He even told her that he was sorry for the incident and that it was a personal decision for her to be pregnant alone.
The fact that the man began lecturing the woman on how things like abortions and birth control are free really appalled so many people too who bashed him for being highly insensitive and rude about the matter.
