A mother of two, famously dubbed as ‘La Ostergren’ is opening up about the abuse that stems from her 40 inch long legs.
While being tall and thin might be characteristics of beauty in the modelling world, but one woman is telling what it’s like to have legs as long as a ostrich. Yes, born with naturally long legs that run for miles, the bitter reality is very different from what many people expect.
Be it years of bulleying at school to suffering from depression too- ‘La Ostergren’ is revealing it all. And clearly, it’s a journey of sheer struggle but faithful results in the end.

Yes, this is a painful tale of a now mother of two, who claims her slender legs measure up to 108 centimeters, from hip to heel. As far as inches go, it’s roughly about 42.5. While she may be happily married now to her bodybuilding champion husband from Sweden, it wasn’t all such a piece of cake.
Today, the 34 year old reflects back on the countless challenges that engulfed her life. For many people, the concept of having super long legs and a super short torso is non-existent. Therefore, this ‘la ostergren’ turned into a laughing stock for many during her school years.
The struggle begins at birth
“When I was born, my legs were actually crooked. Many people found that hard to believe. There was very little space inside my mum’s belly to accomodate them. Hence, my parents had to literally choose between two very difficult decision. The first one related to bending them in place, little by little. Meanwhile, the second one had to do with plastering them in place for a while, so they could straighten up.”
In the end, her parents chose the first option as the second one was just too daunting.
But what’s surprising is how many bullied her during her school years for bizarre reasons. Yes, it was due to her legs, but what many people couldn’t digest is how slim she actually was.
And for them, that turned into a laughing stock and epic target for bullies. Shockingly, she received label tags like ‘anorexic,’ ‘too slim,’ ‘you can’t have kids,’ and ‘skeleton’ too. It was a nighmarish ordeal sometimes.
With the bad comes the good
But if you think ostrich long legs are only bad, think again. One of the greatest advanatages is how you can travel from one place to another, in no time. Think of it like going from point ‘a’ to point ‘b’ in a flurry. Jokingly, the ‘la ostergren’ mentioned that when her short legged husband accompanies her, the pace eventually slows down.
Without a doubt, the world always made her feel like an outsider, thanks to her super long and slender legs. It was as if she chose to be born with them. So how did she overcome the verbal and emotional abuse?
Well, it’s all thanks to her exercise routines. Not only did that help rid the stress and depression away, it instilled her with a positive outlook. And in the, she conquered her demons, one by one.
For her, the life experience was a great lesson on acceptance. Hence, she believes one should love themselves and teach their kids to do the same. “The best acceptance is when you learn to really accept youself.”
