Famous actor Jussie Smollett has to face the consequences of his crimes after the judge denied his dismissal request.
Jussie Smollett was accused of filing an incorrect police report last year in November. His trial started on November 29 when it was confirmed that the police report was inaccurate and the actor was wrong.
The embattled actor was accused of providing false information to the police in order to increase his salary.
According to a source, he reported that he was a victim and survivor of a homophobic attack in Chicago.
Still, later on in an investigation, it was revealed that the actor wasn’t lying, and he hired two people to stage a hate crime for his advantage.This attack happened in 2019.
The charges were dropped later by Kim Foxx’s who is the Cook Country State Attorney.The 39-Year-old Black actor later accepted his crime and asked for dismissal after he performed the community service. He also gave his $10,000 bond as a part of his earlier on-prosecution agreement between him and the Cook Country state’s attorney’s office.
An attorney of Jussie Smollett, Nenye Uche, has argued that the denial of Smollett’s dismissal request would violate the actor’s rights. According to him, A deal is a deal, and it should stay that way. A judge in Chicago had canceled the actor’s lawyer’s Hail Mary pass when he tried the dismissal of Smollett’s case after the deal.
Now a judge has assigned a special prosecutor, and the actor is charged with six news charges, including disorderly conduct in the previous year. The actor has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
