A mother is going viral after she deleted her 14-year-old influencer daughter’s social media account which reportedly has more than a million followers.
The mother turned heads with the news but what really raised so many eyebrows over the act is the justification she provided for her behavior. “It’s just not healthy to have yourself judged based upon other people’s online feedback,” she went on to explain.
The mother who goes by the name Fernanda Rocha Kanner felt no guilt in ridding her daughter’s account on both TikTok as well as Instagram.
Her daughter whose real name is Valentina but is famously known by fans as Nina Rios had millions of followers who adored her.
But now, it appears that they’ll have to do without her because there are no signs of her return anytime soon.Calling social media accounts as both debatable as well as radical, the mother says she took the drastic step because she felt it was necessary.
“Both TikTok and Instagram are unhealthy,” she added.
In addition, the mother went on to reveal how a mother’s true responsibility was not related to being a buddy. Instead, it was about telling the truth and protecting her.“As it is, it’s so hard to find out who you are when you’re a young teen. And having social media accounts like these just adds so much more pressure,” she reiterated. “Whenever I used to log inside her account, all I could see were 30 identical selfies, alongside little dances that anyone would do.”
While the mother may agree that her approach was stern, she felt it was the right thing to do and while her daughter may not really realize it right now, she will thank her in the future. “I believe this entire social media culture is a really sad generation that counts as fame,” the mother tried to explain.
