Quite contrarily, the professor informed the students that she will not accept any argument. The kind of arguments against gay marriages, abortion, BLM, etc. She said she takes these matters seriously so the students will be dismissed from her class.

She wrote ‘[A]ny instances of othering that you participate in intentionally.  It includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, sorophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc. Students in class using these ideas are grounds for dismissal from the classroom.’ What she means here is that no one basically can write against these topics.

The university’s uncomfortable history with free speech

It seems like the ISU has troublesome chemistry with ‘free speech’. The institute is already going through a suit against free speech. The university banned sidewalks and wall chalking in a political context. But someone made a lawsuit against them.

The university, however, has now agreed to remove the policy. A student organization advocating First Amendment said that this is against free speech. The university banned political activities when the presidential campaigns are a hot topic on the campus.
