A 29-year-old father named Thomas Hughes has been accused of bullying and then killing his own 6-year-old son.
According to local media reports, the father carried out a brutal campaign comprising of sheer cruelty against his son. But his little son pleaded for help till the last minute, as a means of gaining respite from his evil father. Unfortunately, the young child’s screams and tears were in vain as no one could rescue him from his father’s torture.
Fearing that the neighbors may have heard his son yell, “help me, my daddy’s going to kill me,” the father even knocked on his neighbor’s door to reassure them that nothing was going wrong, explained the court.
The father and his 22-year-old partner subjected 6-year-old Arthur to behavior that was defined as systematic and cruel. They went about poisoning him with salt, and even forcing it down his throat. But their evil behavior did not just stop there.
The father even deprived his son of drinking water during a major heatwave, forcing him to stand in the heat for nearly 14 hours a day.
The court stated that young Arthur was ordered to sleep on the ground and even deprived of living comforts that many termed basic necessities while the child moved into his step mom’s home in the West Midlands.
Little Arthur was found with 125 areas of bruising on his body after his death, including injuries that many deemed as unsurvivable.
While both the father and his partner deny any involvement with his murder, the stepmom did admit to one charge of child cruelty but the father still blatantly denies all four counts.
On Friday, Hughes was accused of depriving his son of water while hitting him and forcing him to stand in isolation.
He admitted that he would slap his son and how it was really heard. “I am not proud of it,” he added. But at the same time, the father tried to cover up the charges by calling it a matter where his discipline had gone one step too far.
