Fighting on the frontline daily, these health workers shed light on challenges galore. And that means long ICU shifts, grueling emotional trauma, and the scary thoughts of getting infected.

Recently, healthcare workers from all around the globe expressed what they deal with. And it’s safe to say that it’s nothing like anyone would imagine. Meanwhile, the dark red marks on their faces say plenty. Wearing double goggles, double masks, and more- even breathing is hard for them.
In the same way, the idea of 12-hour shifts, at a minimum is truly daunting.
Getting bestowed with the title of heroes just isn’t enough sometimes.And that’s because they feel nothing like it.

Smothered in deep lines and red marks all over, Italy’s frontline showed drastic clicks. While the nation may be small, the virus keeps spreading. On average, it is the world’s second most affected nation. And that puts more pressure on the already burdened health sector.
Doctors and nurses also mentioned how they’re left in helpless situations. With no spare beds and ICU units, saying no to patients is just beyond tragic. Spending 13 hours in the ICU isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and it’s so demanding, expressed one doctor.

In another picture, a healthcare worker lifted his goggles, just to show the world his appearance. There were dark red marks under his eyes as well as the bridge of his nose. Therefore, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that chilling is an understatement.
The same doctor explained how he doesn’t love selfies. However, he took this click yesterday, right after a grueling shift from the ICU. For him, it was just unbelievably demanding. And when he took off his protective gear, this was the end result.
“I took a selfie, but I don’t feel like a hero. It’s the day and life of a normal doctor and I loved my job before, just as I love it more now.” He also mentioned how it’s all possible due to team efforts. From doctors, nurses, cleaners, and technicians- every member deserves praise.
Needless to say, his post went viral in seconds. It got around 240,000 likes with more than 74,000 shares. Bruised and tired as ever, he explained how he sent the post to his partner. It was a signal that he was done with the shift, and would soon be home.
Also, he mentioned how he wishes to show his young daughter the truth of the pandemic. ‘I will tell her about this moment,” he explained.
Today, the world struggles at containing the virus. And with hopes and prayers for the nightmare to end, it’s these healthcare workers who deserve massive respect, day in and day out.
