A pregnant woman whose unborn baby girl is ‘incompatible with life’ says she is being forced to feel her child’s sufferings every day after the Roe v Wade ruling was reversed by the Supreme Court.
Chloe, who is now 26 weeks pregnant, was told 23 weeks into her pregnancy that her unborn child was ‘incompatible with life.’
The 21-year-old said that she was scheduled to have induced labor on the day Roe v. Wade was overturned.
Chloe’s doctor then told her that he was no longer allowed to proceed with the plan as the baby has a heartbeat, forcing the woman to carry her unborn child until she gives birth on her own or it ‘dies inside of her.’
“What kind of sick country do we live in where we force a mom to feel her baby suffer every single day until her baby dies?” she wrote on Instagram.
Speaking to Today, Chloe – who has one daughter – shared how nervous but excited she was when they found out that she was pregnant again.
“My daughter was five months old so I was really nervous, but I was also very excited because I love being a mom. I was very excited to have another baby,” Chloe from Arizona shared.
But after an anatomy scan at 21 weeks, she was told by her doctor about some ‘red flags’ and referred her to a specialist, who told her that her baby won’t be able to survive.
“They found out there that my baby was not coping properly and that her conditions were incompatible (with life),” she told Today.
“My OB-GYN basically gave me the options of going to get… an abortion, inducing in the hospital, or staying pregnant until (the unborn baby) either passed away inside of me or I (went) full term.”
The mother-of-one revealed that she decided to ‘terminate’ the pregnancy to end her unborn child’s suffering.
“My baby is suffering inside of me, having seizures multiple times a day. I feel every single one. I knew I didn’t want her to suffer any longer,” she shared.
Her doctor scheduled an induction for her but after it was announced that Roe v. Wade ruling was reversed, her doctor said he would not be able to do the procedure.
“My doctor told me I have to remain pregnant until this baby dies inside of me or dies when she’s born,” Chloe expressed.
The 21-year-old said that she is now saving up to go to another state where she can get an abortion. She has setup a GoFundMe page and raised over $20,000.
“I really can only describe it as feeling trapped. Not being able to choose what to do in regards to me and her, I just feel trapped and it’s not fair to me or for anybody that’s going through something like this,” she added.
