Samantha Crosbie was over the moon after giving birth to her baby girl, Betty Crosbie.

But the life of the mother-of-three was cut short only five weeks later after she suddenly collapsed while her husband Paul Crowbie, 38, and their two children aged 9 and 5, were at the cinema.

Sadly, the mother-of-three passed away and tests revealed that she had suffered a Pulmonary Emobolism (PE).

Jane hopes her daughter’s experience can warn other pregnant women about the risk.

“If Samantha had been more aware of the risks, she might still be here today,” she said.

Pulmonary embolism is a blockage in the pulmonary artery in the lungs. This is usually caused by blood clots that travel to the lungs from deep veins in the legs. If not treated immediately, it can be fatal as the clots block blood flow to the lungs.
