Gymnasts from Germany have taken a bold stand against sexualization in the high-profile sport by choosing to wear full bodysuits.
According to news reports, star gymnast Sarah Voss is getting called out with praise after she became the first person to adopt this trend recently. Here, Sarah decided to pave the way for all others in the recent European Artistic Gymnastics Championships. This high-profile competition was held this week in Basel, Switzerland.
Defying all the odds against her, Sarah made many heads turn as she chose to wear a full body suit, which is a very unique choice, keeping in mind the trends of the past.
Full body suits are rarely worn by female competitors in this sport. And that’s because they are usually told to wear leotards, in either full or half-sleeved variants.
Before female gymnasts were only seen to be covering their legs at major international competitions and that too for religious reasons, confirmed media reports.
Right after Sarah’s bold wardrobe selection, other teammates were also seen flaunting themselves in full-body suits at the women’s all-around championship final, held on the 23rd of April.
Sarah also took out some time and spoke to a public broadcaster at ZDF on the topic that had so many people shocked.point 377 |
