A heartbroken father has made his final plea after his children were murdered by their mother’s boyfriend.
11-year-old Lacey Bennett and 13-year-old John Paul Bennett were bright young siblings who were killed last month along with their friend, 11-year-old Connie Gen, and their mother, 35-year-old Terri Harris.
According to the reports, all four victims were murdered during a sleepover massacre at a property in Killamarsh, England.
After the horrifying incident, the police arrested Harris’ boyfriend, Damien Bendall, and charged him with murder.
The man denied all allegations and is set to stand trial next year.Following the death of his children and his former partner, Jason Bennett was left devastated and forced to plan the funeral of his beloved kids.
As part of his selfless requests, Bennett also made a heartbreaking plea as he reached out to people attending the funeral of his children.
“Me and my babies always used to sing a certain song in our car and belt it out like nothing else matters,” the man wrote in his viral post.
“I’m trying to stay strong and while I’m carrying both my babies on my shoulders I’m determined to belt the song they love out loud as if we were in our car.
“Sing along if you like and give me hope and strength and celebrate my beautiful happy babies.”
The grieving father went on to share the music clip for The Greatest Showman’s hit song ‘Never Enough’ and encourage people to practice in preparation for the funeral.
When the tragic day his children were laid to rest arrived, Bennett tried his best to pay a musical tribute to his kids and collapsed in tears when it was time for him to lay flowers in their graves.
“Life will never be the same again. Families have been left broken by the awful loss of John, Lacey, Terri and Connie,” the dad said after the funeral.
“I’ve been left broken. I’m devastated. John and Lacey came into our lives and brought so much love and happiness and were adored by myself and their big sisters, forever loved and remembered.
“We would also like to thank everyone for their loving support and our thoughts go out to everyone affected by the tragic loss of four precious lives.”
Our thoughts are with Mr. Bennett and the families of the victims during these challenging times.
