A 63-year-old grandmother and her 6-year-old granddaughter were kicked out of a hotel in the middle of the night after she gave it a 3-star review.
Susan Leger shared how she and her granddaughter were forced to walk in their pajamas after police booted them out of the hotel in Georgia.
Leger said she branded the hotel ‘run down’ and complained on the booking site Hotels.com that her room’s toilet did not flush properly.
In an interview with WXIA, Leger said: “My granddaughter’s like clinging to my leg and crying so hard. This was scary. This was just horrifying.”
The grandmother was shocked when police arrived to kick her and her granddaughter out because she “had given the hotel a bad review.”
She said that she first received a call from manager Danny Vyas. “The man is screaming at me. He was saying, ‘You get out now. I call the police,’” she shared.
The grandmother said that she was told by the manager: “You get out … You lie, you lie. You gave me bad review.’ And I’m just sitting there going, ‘Oh my gosh, is this a prank call?’”
According to reports, Leger gave the hotel three out of five stars after she received an email from Hotels.com asking, ‘How’s your room?’
She wrote that the accommodations were “rundown. Pool’s not open. Toilet doesn’t flush well.”
But she didn’t know that her review was forwarded to the management during her stay.
“So, the only way to keep the room, in my mind, is not to have answered Hotels.com’s request,” she expressed.
“If you don’t want to be walking in your pajamas with your 6-year-old granddaughter, don’t leave a review if you’re currently still at the place.”
