A mother from Uganda is setting new records after giving birth to a total of 44 children.
Now, the world is prohibiting her from expanding her family further.

Meet Mariam Nabatanzi- the mother to 44 kids
After delivering twins at the age of 12, Marium didn’t sit still for a second. Furthermore, she gave birth to at least 5 more sets of twins. And if you think that’s all, you’re sadly mistaken.
Her family’s population kept on expanding by the minute. Soon, she became blessed with 4 sets of triplets, followed by 5 sets of quadruplets. According to reports, she had abnormally large ovaries and that’s why her condition was quite different from all others.
It wasn’t an easy journey for Mariam at all. Her husband abandoned her, just three years ago. And that meant she is the sole carer for her surviving 38 kids.
Today, she lives with her children in 4 tiny houses, covered with corrugated iron roofs. According to reports from The Sun, her house is surrounded by fields of coffee. To be exact, it’s around 50 kilometers away from Uganda’s capital of Kampala.
A tiring journey of motherhood
With so much pressure on Mariam’s shoulders, doctors are taking strict action against her giving birth. They feel it’s necessary for them to step in before it’s too late.
Doctors are doing everything possible to help prevent her from conceiving again. Therefore, Mariam spoke out to media agencies about how her uterus was cut from the inside. Meanwhile, doctors explained to her that contraceptive pills wouldn’t work for her. And that’s because her ovaries are very large. In fact, it might lead to other health concerns.
Recently, Mariam lost a total of six kids during her deliveries. This just goes to show how serious motherhood is and the struggles associated with them.
Let’s not forget how dire the circumstances are surrounding her. After giving birth to 44 kids, it’s hard for her to meet ends. Likewise, she’s having trouble juggling with her jobs and her kids. Without any support from her husband, it’s heartbreaking to see her in this state.

While it may sound harsh at first, the ban makes absolute sense. In fact, it’s actually great for her own benefit. With so many children and the circumstances that surround her, there couldn’t be anything better.
Just the thought of giving birth to more kids could possibly turn out to be a major nightmare for her. And for that reason, doctors took a great stand for her.
