A 14-year-old girl has passed away after she was stabbed over 23 times in a random attack in North Dakota.
Daisey ‘Jupiter’ Paulsen was covered in blood when she was found by police at a strip mall in Fargo at 7 am on Friday.
According to reports, she was skateboarding to her mother’s house when the suspect choked, beat, and stabbed her in a brutal attack that lasted 20 minutes.
Paulsen was taken to a hospital where she died four days after the incident.
Police arrested 23-year-old Arthur Prince Kollie after he was allegedly seen standing over the teen. He was tracked to a nearby Walmart where security camera footage showed him stealing clothes to change his bloodied shirt. His bloodied clothes and shoes were found in the changing room.
Kollie reportedly told police that he had used meth that afternoon and did ‘not recall’ the attack. He also denied being involved in any assault, according to WDAY.
Kollie was charged with robbery, attempted murder, and aggravated assault of a child. His bail was set at $1 million cash.
When he heard his charges, he asked: “Attempted murder, as is she alive? Or what? What does attempted murder mean?”
The Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office told WDAY that papers would be filed with the court to change attempted murder charge to murder.
The victim’s family were left devastated by her death after they hoped that she may be able to recover from the incident.
Paulsen’s grieving father wrote on a GoFundMe page: “We just got word from the doctor today that our baby girl is too far gone and there isn’t anything they can do. Just to gather family and to say our goodbyes.”
