He says that George Floyd’s death occurred due to an overdose of Fentanyl. In other words, Floyd contributed to his own death. Thoman Lane is one of the three people that currently face charges linked with Floyd’s brutal killing.

On the other hand, Lane is just one of the three Minneapolis police who face charges. Similarly, another police official, Derek Chauvin is slapped with murder charges.
CCTV footage and Bodycam recordings revealed details about the case. It clearly showed how Derek kneeled over Floyd’s neck for around nine whole minutes.

According to reports, the attorney explained how George Floyd’s death didn’t occur due to Derek Chauvin. In fact, he says that the black man killed himself by overdosing on fentanyl.
37-year-old Thomas Lane is a part of the three accused police officers who are currently behind bars. They are all convicted for events relating to Floyd’s death.
Thomas Lane was charged because he held Floyd’s legs during the fatal arrest on May 25th, causing the black man to die. Despite Floyd gasping for air and screaming I can’t breathe, none of the men listened to his pleas and watched him die silently.

Gray says that there isn’t much evidence at all that proves that Thomas Lane committed any crime. He believes his client is absolutely innocent and all the charges against him are wrong.
Meanwhile, he sent out a memorandum that sits in court. It declared that he swallowed fentanyl at a very lethal dose. And for this reason, he attempted these measures to avoid his arrest.
The attorney also described how the footage showed that Floyd possessed a white spot on the lateral side of his tongue. It clearly shows that he was on the meds. Reports claim he used a fake $20 note to purchase cigarettes from the convenience store.

Gray also mentioned in the memo how the black man intentionally took a dose comprising of 2 milligrams of fentanyl.
That is a ‘lethal dose,’ he claimed. Meanwhile, the defense attorney described how it all took place when Lane ordered Floyd to raise his arms.
‘All Floyd had to do was sit down in the car peacefully, just like any other person that’s accused. While trying to avoid his arrest, Floyd opted to take a dose of fentanyl, overdosing himself all the way,’ he claimed.
With that said, both medical examiner’s, as well as independent autopsy’s report, showed otherwise. They both claimed that the death occurred due to asphyxiation. There was no sign of homicide, whatsoever. And that is the final verdict on George Floyd’s death.
