Competition can really be mean sometimes and if you fail to agree, you just might want to take a look at a recent incident that sparked outrage at the Tokyo Games 2020.
A French marathon runner is being called out for poor sportsmanship after he was reportedly seen knocking down his competitor’s water bottles. The shocking incident was caught on camera with the footage going viral immediately.
Morhad Amdouni began defending his actions, right after his move sparked fury amongst other runners who strongly felt that it was done on purpose.
However, the French man denies any wrongdoing.
Instead, he is putting the blame relating to how the bottles were so slippery. Hence, he felt that taking one managed to make the rest fall out of place.“The bottles were just so slippery,” he explained while hitting out at his critics who continue to blame him for poor behavior in an international competition.
Meanwhile, Piers Morgan also had plenty to say about the Olympian. Referring to him as the biggest d***head present in this year’s Olympics, Piers refused to believe his excuse.
In the jaw-dropping footage, Morhad can be seen knocking down an entire line of drinks, right before he manages to grab hold of the last bottle. Clearly, many felt his actions were unfair to those competing with him.
But despite viewing the footage himself, Morhad says he can’t be held accountable for the act. “It is quite clear that I am trying my level best to pick up one from the start of the row. However, I was unable to pick up a bottle earlier because they were all so soaking wet and covered in water,” he started to mention.
While the French athlete finished up at position number 14 in the race, around 31 runners were forced to drop out due to the extreme heat conditions.
