A biology professor from Harvard was recently slammed after she expressed her sheer dismay and frustration over the terms pregnant people.
Moreover, Professor Carole Hooven says that she’s been affiliated with the prestigious university for a number of years now and in her widespread 20-year career, she’s appalled at the amount of pressure she and some of her colleagues face in regards to their choice of words.
Carole says there is a constant encouragement against the usage of a number of common terms and that includes males and females. Instead, people prefer the words pregnant people as they feel it’s more in line with gender-neutral terminology.
In the same way, Carole says that it’s quite frustrating how many people are failing to understand the basic concepts and principles related to biology and science and she feels it’s sad.
“Over the last five years or so, the sex difference debate is slowly but surely turning into an over-hyped and over-politicized debate. And it truly takes away from the basic fundamentals of culture, making it less than what it really is,” the senior Harvard Professor said.
In a recent interview with Fox News, she also was real quick to mention how this form of ideology has not only been interfering with the world of science but also classrooms too. “Truly, I’ve been quite frustrated over it all and the build-up is gradual.”
“Science is about teaching facts and facts clearly reveal how there are only two sexes- the male and the female. Only those two sexes are designed to produce gametes,” she tried to explain in detail.
But that just didn’t appear to go down too well with the majority of critics as well as the university’s own members. They felt it was high time to respect different gender identities and use the right pronouns such as intersex, trans, and also gender non-conforming related terms too.
