Lisa Montgomery, who killed a pregnant woman, got executed by the federal government.
The Justice Department announced, for the first time in 70 years, a female got executed by the federal government because she killed a pregnant woman and stole her unborn baby from the victim’s womb.
Lisa Montgomery was found guilty of the dreadful crime, which happened in 2004 December, is planned to be executed by lethal injection on 8th December at US Penitentiary Terre Haute, Indiana, said the Department of Justice.
Montgomery suffocated the pregnant 23-year-old Bobbie Jo Stinnett until she got unconscious, and with a kitchen knife, she sliced open Bobbie’s body and stole the baby, taking it as her own.
The victim, Bobbie Jo Stinnett, shortly gained her conscious again when Montgomery first cut into her; they started fighting, but then Lisa Montgomery chocked Bobbie to death.
She told her victim that she was also pregnant, and soon they start chatting in the room and over the email. Stinnett was eight months pregnant, whereas Montgomery was faking her pregnancy.
On 16th December 2004, they arranged a meeting at Stinnett’s home. When Montgomery arrived at her home, she strangled Stinnett with a neon pink rope. Then she cut her the unborn baby girl from her womb and pass the infant baby off as her own.
Hours later, Stinnett’s mother found her butchered body and reported the police.
Police arrested Montgomery the next day at the farmhouse with the victim’s baby, who was miraculously survived and then was returned to her father, Zeb Stinnett.
The feds said Montgomery confessed to killing Stinett and kidnapping her child.
Lisa Montgomery was found guilty of federal abduction resulting in death in October 2007.
According to the Death Penalty Information Center, the last woman who was executed was Bonnie Heady by the federal government. She was put to death in a gas chamber in Missouri in 1953.
