A 31-year-old female teacher from Texas has been charged for carrying out sexual abuse on her 13-year-old student.
Marka Bodine was a former teacher who taught the subject of English at Tomball’s Intermediate School. Now, she is dismissed from all of her respective duties after getting charging for her terrifyingly abusive ordeals with a child under the age of 14.
According to local media reports, the alleged abuse began in the year 2018 and lasted for a harrowing three years. It also involved the gruesome exchange of explicit content in the form of both pictures as well as videos.
At the time of the abuse, the victim was just 13 years of age. Therefore, her act is a severe crime which can get a punishment of around 25 years in jail.
The initial investigation into the case showed how the 31-year-old abused her power in the position of a mentor carried on the sexual misconduct for years before getting caught finally.
According to Police Chief Jeff Bert, this was a major cry for help on behalf of the victim who literally came begging to the police department. The young victim first reached out to the school and then to the police department after reportedly becoming overwhelmed with the whole incident.
On Saturday, the teacher entered into police custody and then was booked in Harris County Jail. Since then, she was released after posting her mega $100,000 bond. Meanwhile, she made her first-ever court appearance this Monday where she received orders for wearing a GPS monitor, which was also one of the major conditions for her release.
The court documents also mentioned how the teacher actually went on over to the cops, mentioning how her ex-6th grade student was the one who kept on harassing her. She also spoke about how he went to the extent of threatening himself with harm as well.
But later, she changed her side of the story when she confirmed that she was in a sexual relationship with the student for nearly 3 years.
