A 21-year-old father has pleaded guilty to manslaughter after reportedly killing his baby by shaking him to death.
According to local media reports, the dad of two first dragged his partner by the hair and then kept on punching her, after the couple got into a raging fight over soft drinks. And that’s when the dad picked up his little son and did the unthinkable.
After fatally shaking the little boy who wouldn’t stop crying, the father named Evander Wilson hugged him and told him that ‘daddy’s sorry’. But it was too late as the heartbreaking torture had taken away the child’s life.
Little Jakobi Wilson was already so weak as he was born prematurely, just ten months after the couple had their first child. While his mom was 18, his father was 20 years old at that time.
The young child had already been through so much trauma as he spent his first few months of life in the hospital. However, he was finally able to join his parents and sibling in Mildura in the year 2020. But little did the child know that his existence in this world was only temporary.
Police officials who arrived at the scene spoke about how the father became enraged over a bottle of fizzy drink that did not arrive with the pizza that he had ordered for his dinner.
The baby’s mother feared that he would hit her and that’s why she decided to put the little child in his car seat and placed it in front of the television.
And that’s when the baby began to cry while the dad assaulted his wife. The father picked up the child and bounced him around, without supporting the child’s head which kept flopping around.
The baby’s head even hit the father’s knee and that’s when the mother began to panic as her baby turned blue. The couple tried to revive the baby with CPR before paramedics arrived but it was just too late.
Now, the father has been jailed and charged for manslaughter as family members grieve the loss of an innocent child.
