A 49-year-old father from Washington was recently charged with murder after shooting a man hiding in his daughter’s bedroom.

According to news sources, the victim was in fact his daughter’s boyfriend who snuck into her room, with her help. Meanwhile, authorities confirmed how the tragic incident took place in February 2019, with the case finally reaching a verdict.

While nothing can bring back her lost son, the victim’s mother is speaking out on the entire incident. She mentioned how unfortunate circumstances led to the grave ordeal. But she does feel a little peace in her heart that the court of law served justice.

But how did the bizarre case unfold in the first place? Moreover, why would the father go on shooting a man that he knew was his daughter’s boyfriend?

Father booked for murder after shooting a man

You may have come across a number of high school soaps or college-themed movies where boyfriends sneak into their girlfriend’s room with ease. Unfortunately, 21-year-old Hunter wasn’t so lucky. Certainly, he never knew his actions would lead to such disastrous consequences.

Past curfew time, Dustyn felt it was a good idea to go and visit his girlfriend in the middle of the night. Instead of disturbing her parents from the front door, he decided to sneak into her room. But little did he know that her dad would find out.

49-year-old father, Charles Frederick Heller was slapped with murder charges after the jury found him guilty of shooting a man that was hiding in his daughter’s bedroom. Hell broke loose when Mr. Heller came face to face with the young man, in the middle of the night.

Startlingly tragic details unfold

Charles spotted 21-year-old Dustyn Hunt from inside his residence in Everett in Washington. Enraged with fury at his daughter and her boyfriend, he simply couldn’t control his rage.

Meanwhile, reports confirmed how the father knocked on his daughter’s door with arms. Upon confronting the couple, a struggle took place between both parties. And as you can probably expect, it wasn’t going to end in any positive manner.

Therefore, investigators confirmed how the father pulled the trigger of his partially automated shotgun. And in the end, he couldn’t help himself from shooting a man that was seeing his daughter without his approval.

Tragically, the bullet went and struck his daughter’s boyfriend, right into the chest. The victim fell to the ground, helpless as ever.

Police and paramedics rush to the scene

When it came to speaking on his behalf about his side of the story, Charles Heller claims he fired the gun as a self-defense mechanism. Moreover, he added how he assumed that the victim would actually go about choking him, claimed officers. But his own daughter argued against her father. She mentioned how Hunt didn’t make any attempts of an attack towards her dad.

The Snohomish Superior Court charged the father for murder bringing a sudden sigh of relief to Hunter’s loved ones. Experts claim it took so long to reach a verdict as the jury had to take all matters into consideration. This includes special forensic test reports too.

On the other hand, Hunt’s mother has another side of the story. She feels that the only reason Charles killed her son was due to his race. He was black and his daughter was white.

“It was motivated by race,” she boldly exclaimed. She even talked about how if Charles was black and her son was white, he would receive murder charges on that night only.

Nevertheless, the victim’s mother claims she’s happy with the verdict. But again, nothing can bring back her son.
