A family has been torn apart in a matter of seconds after a state trooper father from Illinois reportedly shot his wife dead, right before killing himself.
This has left the couple’s two young and beautiful children orphaned forever, whose ages have been reported to be just one and four years old.
According to local media outlets, the off-duty State Police trooper and his partner were found dead inside their vehicle which happened to be parked on Chicago’s South Side.
The incident has reportedly been confirmed by authorities as a murder s*icide.
Now, the grieving family of the 31-year-old victim Amanda Alvarez-Calo is speaking out, explaining how she was on the verge of leaving her husband during the time of her death.
Meanwhile, officers from the Chicago police department have gone on to reveal how one witness came across the couple’s car on Monday at South Avenue E and that’s when he discovered to his horror that there were two dead bodies inside.
Emergency rescue services rushed to the scene but the couple had already passed away and hence were both declared as dead at the scene of the tragic crime.
Since then, the state trooper dad’s death has been declared as a homicide by the medical examiner’s office with reports of the gunshot wounds to his head being self-inflicted. Meanwhile, his wife passed away from critical gunshot injuries aimed at her head, as revealed by authorities. Their vehicle has been confirmed as being non-department-issued.
The Chicago police have also managed to retrieve the gun from the crime scene as investigations into the harrowing tragedy continue.
Antonio Alvarez served was reportedly deemed as a three-year veteran from the Illinois State Police, as revealed by the agency. On the other hand, his wife was a school teacher at a learning academy for young kids.
The couple was known to have major problems in their marriage and for this reason, were separated.
