You may have heard of plenty of lesbians welcoming babies into their family but this next story about Britain’s first ‘gay dads’ is causing a stir for obvious reasons.
Barrie Drewett- Barlow and his ex-husband Tony are the United Kingdom’s first gay dads.
While the duo may be separated as of now, they are now all set to welcome triplets into their already large family of six. But wait, that’s not the only thing on their minds as the dads will also be making history along the way.
In case you’re wondering how, well, it’s all thanks to the unique birth certificate that each child will possess. And that entails having the names of not two but three parents.
The men alongside Barrie’s fiance Scott all went about contributing their sperm for the IVF process. And that means once approved, they can all have their names as listed parents in the children’s certificates.
Both Barrie and his former husband Tony are renowned and well-established businessmen living in Manchester. They have both spent a lot of their lives living on council estates. Moreover, the duo reportedly cashed in big time when they built a very successful business in the world of real-estate, ranking them as millionaires.
Alongside their massive wealth, the former couple made heads turn as the country’s first-ever same-sex couple where they were jointly named parents on the birth certificate of their twin babies.
Now, the duo has undergone an IVF treatment worth nearly one million British Pounds, and they’re anxiously awaiting the birth of their triplets, right after a surrogate from the US was inseminated with a total of three embryos.
While the couple may have split in the year 2019, after nearly 32 years, they’re excited as ever for this record-breaking journey.
