A terminally ill father has reportedly left behind a tragic letter for his family, moments before he chose to end his life.
According to local media reports, the father was reportedly suffering from a crippling nerve illness. Yet, he chose to stay behind and sent out his family on a father. And that’s just so he could take his own life in the end.
The father was identified as Lawrie Daniel who has reportedly been confined to his bed for about 20 hours a day. But in the end, he gave up all of his hope and opted to end his life.
It was recently revealed that it’s illegal to have people suffering terminal illnesses be left to die in NSW.
And that’s why his son named Bertie claimed his father should have been surrounded by the love, care, and protection of his family members. But instead, he was left all alone and deserted, leading to the tragic outcome.
The 21-year-old released a heartbreaking statement where he stated how his dad should never have been forced to die alone. Moreover, he even revealed how assisted dying law is something that could potentially have given his dad a more signifying death.
The father reportedly ended his life in his bedroom while his wife and two teenagers were out having a blast in Sydney, sources revealed.
Now, his son hopes to raise awareness on death and its related issues and how euthanasia should always be made an option so people suffering from such conditions can die peacefully in the company of their loved ones.
While the issue is a topic of much debate, so many advocates believe that if laws like assisted dying come into play, it could potentially put a cost on what life is worth living. Do you agree?
