Heartbreaking details about the tragedy involving the drowning of a 3-year-old boy with Autism on Christmas have surfaced.
The news comes as his grieving family members recall his presence as a little angel who is now gone.
According to local media outlets, Oscar Philp passed away after wandering away from his parents’ home on Saturday evening. His body was retrieved by neighbors in Lake Macquarie in the Hunter region of NSW.
It has been revealed that the autistic and non-verbal toddler somehow managed to wander away from his parent’s home which was situated on the waterfront. And that’s right before he tragically fell into the water located along the fishing point road.
Meanwhile, the child’s stepmother Indianna Conway has broken her silence on the matter and shared images of the child in wake of his death as loved ones mourn his tragic passing away.
Since then, Oscar’s auntie has also started a GoFundMe in his honor to raise money for his family.
The heartbroken stepmom added an emotional caption that included, “Goodbye sweet darling Oscar, we love you always our little angel.”
On the other hand, the child’s aunt is urging the community to step up to the plate and donate as much as possible to the family as they grieve their son’s loss.
She added, “As you can probably imagine, it has devastated this poor young family, their lives will never be the same again.”
At the moment, the fundraiser has already managed to gain nearly $10,000 in donations.
Authorities are carrying out investigations into the tragedy to figure out the circumstances around the young child’s death while a report will soon be prepared and sent to the coroner’s office too, they revealed.
