Hearbreaking reports coming in from Ireland have revealed one family’s tragedy after a 12-year-old boy was reportedly run over by a van.
According to local media outlets, Aaron Webb was struck by a giant van as he was walking back home from school on the streets near Glenavy.
Police have released the first picture of the loving boy who passed away in Northern Ireland after the devastating collision with the giant van on Friday, exactly 14 days before Christmas.
Aaron Webb was hit by the vehicle as he was following his everyday route on Lisburn Road but little did Aaron know that he was just minutes away from his own death due to a tragic hit and run incident.
The grieving family described their son as a very ‘special wee boy’ who hailed from the Greater Lisburn area. He passed away shortly, right after arriving at the hospital.
Now, authorities are appealing for any witnesses who happened to be present at the crime scene at that time to come forward, especially those who could potentially have some footage through dashcam regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Braiden explained how both officers, as well as colleagues from the Northern Irish Ambulance Service, attended to the incident on an emergency basis.
“Aaron was immediately transported to the hospital but he sadly passed away shortly afterward,” he revealed.
Authorities claim that the collision incident took place at about 3:30 pm.
“We appeal to everyone that happened to be traveling in that area and at that time to come forward with their witness descriptions regarding the collision, as well as those with cam footage of the incident,” the public appeal mentioned.
The councilor for Glenavy tweeted how the news was beyond heartbreaking, adding how the incident was a horrific tragedy where words can never convey the unbelievable pain and agony experienced by the family during this time.
