A Huntingdale father has reportedly murdered his own two children before taking his own life.

Heartbreaking details from the family tragedy that took place in the southern part of Perth, Australia are now emerging as police begin to investigate the horrifyingly tragic murder and suicide case.

According to local media outlets, the cops received a frantic call at about 6:30 in the evening on Friday about the tragedy, forcing officers to rush to the crime scene.

And that’s when they discovered 40-year-old Indika Gunathilaka’s dead body, alongside the bodies of his two young and beautiful children. The young victims included his four-year-old daughter as well as his six-year-old son who were all found dead at their family home in Essington Street in Perth.

The call was made by one of the family’s loved ones who quickly informed the police about the incident and requested their assistance in the tragic matter.

Authorities claim that the phone call was made right after the children’s mom went out to pick up her kids from a location but was worried as they were not there.

Meanwhile, the police say that the young victims were lying dead inside the property while the dad’s body lay in the garage, which was present at the back of the home.

Now, the Police Assistant Commissioner has confirmed how it is most likely suspected that the father who was suffering from a mental illness had murdered his children, right before he opted to kill himself.

At the moment, the tragedy is being closely investigated to determine the exact nature of the incident, with police stating that they are doing everything possible to come to the conclusion of a case that appears like a double murder incident.

“It is very hard to determine and comprehend what has taken place. It is an extreme tragedy and our prayers go out to the loved ones,” the police assistant commissioner added.
