The jail sentences of Arthur’s killers have been referred to the Attorney General after many felt they were too lenient.
According to local media reports, the shameless father Hughes received a jail sentence of 21 years after being found guilty of manslaughter. Meanwhile, the evil and twisted stepmother who carried out the final brutal attack against the innocent child that killed him was sentenced to 29 years in prison.
But the MP of Solihull, Julian Knight, has gone on to reveal how many disagree with the sentences being put forward by the judge and hence will refer for their reconsideration to the Attorney General on Monday.
After that is done, they will then be considered under the lenient scheme and as a result, could potentially be increased.
Many critics and followers of the case around the world were heartbroken and shook after shocking details of the case emerged, leaving not an eye dry.
The way Arthur’s father and stepmother carried out the horrific abuse made so many realize how difficult it must have been for a 6-year-old child that knew he was going to die.
This is especially true after jaw-dropping footage of the child in isolation was revealed to the jury in the courtroom, showing the child crying and mentioning how nobody loves him and nobody was going to feed him.
“There’s an overall sense of loss and anger over the entire tragedy. So many questions are being raised on how these monsters were allowed to carry out abuse of this degree on a 6-year-old boy that was defenseless,” mentioned Mr. Knight.
Many feel the view regarding the sentencing is simple and that entails getting to the bottom of how all of this happened and ensuring that those that failed him are held accountable.
