A mother was forced to defend herself against strangers on the internet after revealing that her 2-year-old son is a model for girls’ clothes.
Ebony Crawford, a mother and blogger from the UK, started a heated debate on TikTok after revealing her son Joseph, 2, would wear girls’ clothes as part of his paid photoshoots.
In the video that has since racked up over 4 million views, the boy was seen wearing a white frilly dress and a golden bow in his long locks. For the photoshoot, he also donned a yellow floral baby dress complemented by a bowtie in his hair.
After the video went viral, thousands of viewers slammed the mother and accused her of “confusing” her son and creating memories that he will be “embarrassed” by in the future.
“I mean he’s a boy that took baby girl photos as a baby. Come on now, why not model the boys’ clothing?” one outraged user wrote.
“How to confuse your child 101,” another mockingly said.
A third suggested: “Stop confusing him he’s still too young to understand that it’s ‘just a photoshoot.’”
Many viewers, however, also ran to the mom’s defense saying she didn’t do anything wrong at all.
“This comment section is scary. Your son is beautiful. He won’t be confused because he got dressed up. I dressed up my boy cousins all the time,” one said.
“I don’t see why everyone is freaking out. He’s like 2. He doesn’t care what he wears and knows he’s cute,” another added.
One viewer said: “Bro is making money. I don’t think he’s gonna care y’all.”
After her video went viral, the mother spoke out to defend her parenting methods and revealed that her son typically models boys’ clothes.
“He does model the boys clothing but on this occasion he did girls too!” she explained.
“He’s not confused. He knows what he is. It was a modeling shoot not his everyday attire.”
