A mother whose baby died at just three days old has revealed that her one-month-old child has been diagnosed with cancer.
34-year-old Sophie Kitcher Ware, England, was left heartbroken after losing her first-born baby, a baby boy named Huxley, last year when the child was just three days old.
According to Sophie and her husband, Luke, little Huxley died during a procedure to seal a hole in his intestine.
Now, just over a year after the tragic incident, the grieving mom welcomed another son, baby Ralphie, only to be hit with devastating news just weeks after the child’s birth.
While performing tests at the hospital, the doctors confirmed that Ralphie is suffering from acute myeloid leukemia and that he only has a 30% chance of survival.
“If we haven’t already been through hell and back here we are again, our beautiful darling rainbow boy has been diagnosed with leukemia,” Sophie wrote in her Instagram post.
“I don’t understand how life can be so cruel and my baby has now got to go through this.”
The devastated mother continued: “Ralphie you are our purpose and the reason we are still both here today fighting for you with your brother looking over us.
“Please everyone say your prayers for us, mummy and daddy are absolutely broken in pieces. How has this happened you are so perfect.”
As Ralphie’s family revealed, the young boy will now undergo grueling chemotherapy in hopes to get rid of cancer.
“I just know you are now here our baby boy [Huxley] to help heal Mummy and Daddy’s broken hearts, you really have made us smile again,” Sophie concluded.
”Here’s to this new chapter as a family, never ever lose that hope or give up on ur dreams, miracles really do happen.”
Our hearts go out to Ralphie’s family during this tragic time.
