A mother has been slammed online after she revealed that she was left feeling ‘disappointed’ about the gender of her unborn baby.

Nicole Shamlin took to TikTok and shared her reaction to her gender reveal party and how she felt about it.

In the video, the pregnant mom and her partner looked excited and happy as blue confetti flew in the air, which means they are expecting a baby boy.

But Nicole admitted that she later broke down in tears and ‘grieved’ over the fact that she won’t be having a baby girl.

“What everyone saw at our gender reveal… me later that night grieving the fact that I’m not getting my baby girl just yet,” she wrote.

“How can I love another boy? Will I be replacing my first son? How can I love two sons?”

The mom then added that she needed some time to reflect on the reveal.

“Gender disappointment is real,” Nicole said. “I only felt that way for a day. Now we are beyond excited and thankful.”

Her video quickly went viral with over 261,000 views in just five days. But many people slammed her reaction to having a baby boy instead of a girl.

One parent wrote: “This is sad. I went through years of IVF. I was just thankful to have one live child. Healthy is what you should care about not the gender.”

But other mothers said that they also felt the same way, with one woman writing: “I love how you show the real truth behind stuff that many people go through.”

Another said: “Mama I felt this exact way, but I promise you, you got this.”
