A 9-year-old girl tragically died alongside her grandmother, 67.
And her pet dog after a devastating house fire in Virginia.
Kaysie Anne Arancibia was taken to a hospital where she died from injuries. Her grandmother, Patricia Stoderl, also succumbed to the severe injuries she sustained in the fire.
The family’s pet dog also passed away.
Kaysie’s grieving father, Maurcio Arancibia, said his heart was in a million pieces and his soul was broken after losing his daughter and mother-in-law.
“She was a happy kid, who had a whole future ahead of her,” he expressed. “She always used to smile and be playful. Her memory is always just embedded in my heart.”
Fire officials are investigating the exact cause of the devastating fire but Mr. Arancibia believes that smoke inhalation is the cause of his daughter’s death, WUSA9 reported.
According to a fire department news shared on Facebook, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue were called to the home around 1:44 am on Barrett Road in Falls Church.
Officials believe that the fire began in the back of the house but they are still investigating the cause.
Two white wooden crosses were set up outside the house with the names of the grandmother and her grandchild.
Mourners also felt flowers, candles, photos of the victim, and stuffed animals, near the property.
Family friend Missy Carine created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
“Crystal lost her mother and little girl today. Kaysie was a 9 year old fun, energetic, funny, smart little girl who passed away too soon,” she wrote.
“Crystal’s mom Tricia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Who always put others needs before her own.”
