A four-year-old child was over the moon when he announced his transition from a girl to a boy during a pride parade.

4-year-old Charlie, who was born a female, wanted to be a boy from a young age according to his family including his 27-year-old mom Alaina Bourrel.

To help the girl officially transition to a boy, the family decided to hold a special gender reveal at the Vancouver Pride Parade in Canada on July 31.

During the event, Charlie was accompanied by his mother and grandmother and was seen jumping in joy when blue confetti and smoke filled the sky.

“Once they closed the road, Charlie strutted out with Grammy and they faced the sidelines and after a short struggle, the cannon exploded with blue smoke and biodegradable confetti,” the boy’s mom told SWNS.

“Charlie jumped with joy as the crowd cheered him on. He couldn’t believe the love and support he was shown from the bystanders.”

As Bourrel also revealed, she was inspired to hold another gender reveal after her child learned about the first one – which took place before he was born – and asked his mom to redo it in blue style.

The proud mother also claimed that Charlie wanted to be a boy ever since he was just two years old. She further insisted he always wanted to “look like daddy” and did his best to convince others he was a boy.

“He wasn’t your typical little girl. He would play with other boys and the parents would say he was more of a boy than their own children,” Bourrel added.

She continued: “He refused to shop in the girl’s section, but was too nervous to shop in the boys. After lots of expressing his feelings and emotions with me, he decided that he wanted a new wardrobe so we set out to find our new style.”

Hitting back at her critics who accused her of child abuse, the 27-year-old mother went on to say that she’s done nothing but support her child the entire time.

She also insists her son is “still a normal kid” who loves being creative and learning how to ride a bike.
