Sources close to Bob Saget have spoken out and revealed what they had been told about the actor’s sudden passing so far.
The beloved 65-year-old actor, stand-up comedian, and television host was found dead in his hotel room at Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday afternoon just hours after his performance in the city.
As the authorities have since confirmed, the official cause of death is yet to be determined and released by the medical examiner.
Amid speculations surrounding the actor’s death, the police also confirmed that foul play or drugs were not involved in Saget’s passing.
Now, a source close to the deceased actor has spoken out and revealed they were told that Bob died in his sleep.
“There was no foul play, nothing odd at all. All we have been told is that he died in his sleep,” the insider told DailyMail.com.
“We are all just devastated. I talked to him Saturday afternoon. He had a great show Saturday night. He was the most generous, lovely guy. It’s just tragic.”
While these claims have yet to be proven truthful, Orange County chief medical examiner Joshua Stephany MD said it could take several months before the comedian’s cause of death is revealed.
“An autopsy was performed this morning on Robert Lane Saget. Mr. Saget is a 65-year-old male, who was found unresponsive in his hotel room. At this time, there is no evidence of drug use or foul play,” Dr. Stephany said.
“The cause and manner of death are pending further studies and investigation which may take up to 10-12 weeks to complete.
“When the autopsy report has been finalized, a follow up press statement will be released. Our condolences go out to Mr. Saget’s loved ones during this difficult time.”
