At Least Eight People Dead In Kabul Airport, Including Three Stowaways Who Fell From US Air Force Plane Engines


Eight people were killed at Kabul airport on Monday, including three stowaways who fell from a US Air Force plane and two who were shot by US troops.

There was a stampede at Hamid Karzai International Airport as thousands of people – both Afghan civilians and foreign nationals – desperately try to leave Afghanistan.

According to reports, the Taliban has already taken control of the country and are going door to door searching for enemies to assassinate even though they vowed they would not breach human rights.

Thousands of Afghan nationals and stranded foreign nationals ran to the airport, which is the last place in the city that is being secured by NATO troops.

However, rescue operations collapsed as troops couldn’t control the people. It is not clear how NATO troops will try to organize the evacuation of refugees or how they will get themselves out of there.

It is also unclear how many Americans are there. President Joe Biden will return to the White House to address the nation.

Outside the airport’s walls, shots from the Talibans rang out.

Ghulam M. Isaczal, Afghanistan’s representative to the UN’s security council, said “there are already reports of target killings and looting in the city.

“Kabul residents are reported that the Taliban have already started house-to-house searches in some neighborhoods, registering names and looking for people in their target list.”

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also said he was “particularly concerned” by accounts of human rights violations against girls and women who fear the return to the darkest days when the Taliban took over and imposed draconian measures on women and banned girls from getting a proper education.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, whose whereabouts remain unknown, has been slammed for leaving the country in a helicopter full of cash, the Russian embassy said.

By Monday morning, almost all major checkpoints in Kabul were controlled by the Taliban.

In the capital, most residents are hiding in their homes as the Taliban deployed fighters at intersections.
