A very shocking incident took place at Des Moines with a police officer who was off duty that day.
Sergent Police Paul Parizek is a public information officer in Des Moines who also does a live show at KNXO’s “Ask 5-0” weekly. He narrated his horrible experience with the town’s Dunkin’ Donuts.
What happened to Sergeant Parizek at Dunkin’ Donuts?
Sergeant Parizek is a regular customer of Dunkin Donuts where he regularly purchases donuts and coffee from. These coffee are not for himself as he is not much of a coffee person. But he gets the coffee and some donuts for his colleagues and friends as a treat. He is a nice cop.
So the staff at Dunkin’ Donuts always treated him nicely and they recognize him well because he is a loyal customer. Parizek also tips the workers well every time he makes a purchase. But what happened one day really hurt and disappointed him.
One time Paul Parizek was off duty but he still went to get some donuts where this unpleasant experience took place. He was wearing a thin blue line baseball hat when he made an order for his donuts.
The worker told him ‘sorry we are not serving you’ and this shocked the sergeant. At first, he thought they were only messing with him but when he said, ‘are you serious? ‘what is going on?’ he realized they were not joking. The worker repeatedly said, “we are not going to serve you today.”
What did Parizek do what he was denied service repeatedly?
So when they denied services to Parizek services over and over again, he asked ‘why’?. To which she just looks up at his hat and kind of stars for a moment and says, ‘we are not serving you today’.
This got him furious and disappointed and he thought to himself ‘man this can’t be happening’. Expressing his dismay, he told the show that he was angry because he was a loyal customer of the franchise. He knew that the staff had recognized who he is but they still behaved this way and it made him only angrier.
What happened next?
What happened next will even shock you more because when Parizek looked into the Facebook account of one of the workers. He knew that they denied because she thought he was a racist cop. She did not even bother to ask him anything about his views or she does not know if he is a racist cop or not.
All kinds of thoughts started hitting his mind and he became skeptical about his previous purchases. He thinks he does not know what have they been doing to his coffee previously.’ Though he does not drink coffee he surely gets for his colleagues at the Morning Rush.
How did the management of Dunkin’ Donuts treat him?
When the management got to know about the incident, they took immediate notice. They released a statement apologizing to the cop and promising it will never happen again.
In the statement, it says that the franchise respects police officers who put efforts for the safety of the community. They are not happy with what they did to one of the officers. The management has terminated 2 of the workers involved.
However, Parizek says he will never visit the same franchise again. The owner runs it independently and it does not have the same standards as the brand does everywhere. According to him, he will not stop doing business with the brand. However, he will no longer buy his coffee and donuts from this franchise.
What made the officer angrier was also the fact that the police department distributed cash as a gift. And some of the workers at Dunkin Donuts were also the recipient of it. So he asked, is this how they pay back to us?
