An Instagram model, Aída Victoria Merlano, has helped her mother escape from the jail by distracting the guard on duty.
Former politician Aída Merlano Rebolledo escaped from a Bogota prison with the help of her 21-year-old daughter.
The pair planned everything many days ago and was successful in the end. In a recent trial, the prosecutors were told that Rebolledo was banged up in 2019. The 38-year-old was convicted of voter fraud, corruption, and illegal possession of weapons and was sentenced to spend 15 years in prison.
She was granted leave from the jail authorities to attend a dentist appointment. A prison guard and a driver accompanied her to the office of the dentist. The woman was left alone in the examination room as the guard and the driver had to wait outside. She escaped from there using a hidden rope. Meanwhile, her daughter distracted the guard that gave the woman a lot of time to run away.
After escaping the dentist’s office, the former politician jumped on the back of a bike nearby and ran away from there in no time. After that, Merlano was featured on the cover of a famous magazine in which she was posing naked in handcuffs. In January 2020, Rebolledo was caught in Venezuela and is now facing trial.
According to the authorities, the Instagram model, Aída Victoria Merlano and the dentist, Javier Cely Barajas, are also charged as they are suspected of helping the woman escape from prison.
They have to spend time in jail if found guilty. The 21-year-old Instagram model shared her video on Instagram in which she asked her fans and followers to choose happiness over everything because nobody knows what will happen in the future.
