Not all information found on the internet is knowledge.
But all knowledge gained through social media platforms is pretty valid and accurate like about racist songs. Don’t be confused, we mean this in the most humble way possible when we say there are children rhymes and racist songs that are pretty racist.
We can bet you never thought of them this way but thanks to The Conscious Kid on Instagram, this account keeps us updated with the racist children rhymes and racist songs that are just too weird!!
The relation between ‘Uneducated Caricatures’ and Racist Songs
Did you know, the children rhymes and racist songs basically originated from the time when white folks would dress up and show up as black-face trying to show that black people are uneducated caricatures.point 349 |
One prime example of this hideous act is within the poem ‘Eeenie Meenie Miney Moe’.point 81 | You probably don’t know what we’re about to write down but you have to believe us as the world is rising and there’s no room for racism anymore! The concept behind this poem is pretty clear and ugly and it goes something like this:point 287 | 1
‘Eeenie Meenie Miney Moe
Catch a Ni**** By His Toe
If He Hollers, Let Him Go
Eeenie Meenie Miney Moe’
But now this poem has been modified, replacing the N-word by tiger just so people won’t be outraged. Remember, this only changed because people are rising for justice and can’t stand racism anymore. Otherwise, it’s just talk of this same century, only 40-60 years back when racism was common.
Ten Little Indians; Racist Children Rhyme
It is said about this poem that it was also called “Ten Little Niggers” which was adapted by Frank J. Green in 1869 or maybe Septimus Winner in 1868 adapted this poem replacing Indians with Injuns or Niggers. It goes both ways, we guess they both worked real hard on this poem.
Crazy talking about breaking necks, playing with guns, shooting someone down so normally.. in a children rhyme? Un-freakin-believable!
Five Little Monkeys? Our Fave Is In This List Too, But Not Anymore!
Did you know, this children’s rhyme Five Little Monkeys had its original words as darkies or the n-word?! That’s right!! That’s how problematic this poem was!! Even if the words today have changed from the n-word to monkeys, you should know that white people used to refer to black children as monkeys so yes, this poem too, is a huge racist song!point 307 | 1
This little baby died in his parents’ arms because NHS denied her pregnant mother any help 3 times
“Oh! Susanna”… What Was All That About Though?
In music classes of high school, this song is a classic.point 49 | We wonder how and why the American education system is just steadily, slowly going along without any checking.point 142 | The original lyrics are super offensive and racist, written by Stephen Foster.point 209 |
This song is about a black dude heading from Alabama to Louisiana to see his girl.point 67 | The black man in this poem is as extremely rude, ignorant, and blustering.point 129 | Check out the lyrics yourself:point 155 | 1
‘ I jumped aboard the telegraph
And trabbled down the riber
De lectric fluid magnified
And killed five hundred n*gger’
OK! First of all, this was written for minstrel shows where a white man blackened his face and jumped in a silly manner around the stage portraying himself as black. They literally smeared black burnt cork, ashes on their face to rep the black people. Not just this but they danced around in a buffoons’ style which some African people still do, some of the tribes.
Secondly, this song is a parody of a black slave man!
Why are we agaist racist children rhymes?
Crazy to think there were, well, there still are some white racist people who just hate on another person based on their appearances and the color of their skin. You’d think racism is a story of the past but best believe it’s still ongoing.
We wish nothing but healing to our mother earth and its people although the injuries and damage are pretty intense and permanent!
