The former Superintendent of the Chicago Police claims that the recent ‘rushed’ tribute for a fallen police officer just goes to show the anti-police trend that continues to rule the nation.
Just recently, outrage sparked in the Chicago cops community when they witnessed how their fellow officer’s tribute took place in a rushed manner. For them, that just was not okay, with many adding how they did not have 20 minutes for ‘sh*t’ of that nature.
In the same way, the former Superintendent of the Chicago Police, Gerry McCarthy added how it was also proof that the country lacked support for cops from all government leaders as well.
“There are so many out there today who feel they just don’t get the credit that they deserve. Most of the time, it’s because of the lack of support they receive from the leadership in front,” he went on to boldly explain.
“We are certainly not waiting for bagpipes to arrive because we don’t have the time for things like this,” mentioned Eric Carter who is the Deputy Police Superintendent and number two in command in the department.
While Chicago’s mayor initially claimed that rumors about Carter mentioning these things were false, he did later confirm that they were indeed true. And that’s when he backed up his opinion of how Ella French’s tribute was rushed.
In the same way, Chicago’s mayor boldly spoke about how the French did not even receive a guard of honor procession at her funeral ceremony. But what raised eyebrows is how he spoke about a group of people that intended to hijack the whole procession in the first place.
Ella French was reportedly killed by two brothers during an intense gun battle that broke out during the evening hours of Saturday. Both the suspects have been arrested and charged with the crime as investigations into the tragic incident continue.
