A student in Southampton took his own life after he was accused of rape.
This news of Jay Cheshire spread like fire in the woods after his body was hanging from a tree at a park near his home in Southampton.
People Who Die Of Suicide
Although the court took back the accusation and allegation prior to his suicide, such allegations lead to depression which is very common now. Around 800,000 people die every year which makes it a one-person every 40 seconds.
We believe this teen got real deep in depression and decided to take his own life.
Police Investigation Stops But Depression Grows
Police was investigating Jay from June but they stopped the investigation after a while when the victim withdraw from the charges. Everyone called him a ‘well-mannered, well-liked and mature’ boy!
Serious Measures Don’t Work Once The Soul Is Out The Body
According to the Daily Mail, after being found on the tree, hanging, the neighbors immediately called the police and an ambulance arrived as well. Jay died at the spot in the Southampton General Hospital on 5th July.
A Little About The Teen To Commemorate This Loss
Jay Cheshire was a brilliant student at Bitterne Park School. He was in the 6th form of studies with his interest in English Literature, Film Studies, and Geography. He aspired to become a teacher or a writer.
A whole life was ahead of him but even when he was little he’d visit a psychiatrist very often. In fact, his visits to the psychiatrist started as early as he turned 13. The Court also concluded in their statement that he was on anti-depressants.

He couldn’t take the pressure and stress that came with the police investigation, unlike other teens who think it’s ‘cool’ or something.” Says the senior coroner Grahame Short of Central Hampshire.
What Jay’s Mother Says About Him
Jay’s mum who is obviously sad and dont have words at the moment had the courage to say. “Jay, my little boy was lovely and a very kind, loving human.”
This was unbearable not just for Jay but us as well. The police investigation although ended soon as the girl took back her statement and allegation, Jay wasn’t ok mentally for two weeks straight. He was absolutely distraught. Jay was a wonderful man, I want the world to know him this way and not the false accusation.
So What About The Accuser?
Apparently, no one filed a police case or did anything to catch the real accuser. Jay’s mother Karin Cheshire also doesn’t want to talk about this considering the loss she’s facing.
The truth is everyone is sad and lost for words about not just the accusation. But also the fact that incidents like this are becoming very common. By this, we do not only mean rape cases but the false accusations of rape and then the accused committing suicide.
In some cases, the culprit really is the criminal but in some cases, people who commit suicide just can’t cope with the fact that they are now famous for it. Also, this isn’t always the reason, some people can’t cope with the depression and stress that comes with the false accusation and hence it leads them to take their own life
